I didnt directly hire Anita but I was definately directly affected by her extremely poor work ethics: lazy, slow, inability to reply to emails/call and complying to deadlines/time frames she has given for herself and to her clients. This company is supposed to handle delicate situations in a timely manner appropriate for all parties. Very disapointed. Do NOT! recommend.

My parents were looking for a solicitor/conveyancer for their sale of their home & approached Anita to act on their behalf, however when she sent her invoice through it was for $912. My parents already had a quote from another solicitor to the amount of $750 fully inclusive so got a third quote from By The Rules which came in at $640 plus search & settlement agent. They approached Anita to see if she would match the quote of $750 fully inclusive otherwise they would have to go with a cheaper option. Before making their final decision, my Mother then called Northcoast Law and asked how much they would charge and they advised for a sale they would only charge $660 fully inclusive. Anita sent back and said she wouldn't match the quote, which is her prerogative, so my parents advised that they no longer required her services. Anita then sent my parents an invoice for $275 for her services conducted so far, which is extortion. By changing solicitors to handle their sale it may end up costing them more but it's the principal and this serves to everyone as a warning to get all the costs upfront before engaging anyone's services and shop around to get quotes before making a decision.
